The work of the Slovenian Caritas and the Slovenian Red Cross was presented at the Government press conference this morning in relation to other humanitarian organizations and Civil Protection during the COVID-19 epidemic.
Both organizations detect an increase in the number of those who need help. Slovenian Caritas notes 670 and the Red Cross over 1000 new applicants. Both organizations mostly assist in the delivery of food and essential hygiene supplies, while Caritas also helps in paying bills in total of 53,000 euro.
The organizations welcomed the willingness of the Government to hear about their work during the epidemic. They hope that as many matters as possible will be included in the amendment to the law to help the people affected by the epidemic of the new coronavirus or in the new law.
