Parliamentary Speaker Igor Zorčič has announced that he would convene an extraordinary session at 10 a.m. on Wednesday for the parliament to discuss a comprehensive anti-corona bill to help the population and the economy to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic.
Before that, tomorrow, the bill will be discussed by the parliamentary finance committee. The National Assembly will discuss and vote on the bill in an urgent procedure.
Most of the parliamentary groups, except for the Left that abstained from voting, agreed that the bill should be passed under urgent procedure, and there was less agreement about when the extraordinary session should be held. The parties of LMŠ, SD, the Left and SAB wanted more time to study the law and prepare any amendments, so they suggested a session to be held on Thursday.
